Instructor Bio

angola murdochAngola Murdoch
Founder and Artistic Director of Lookup Theatre. Angola has been working in the theatre and circus industry for over fifteen years. The Globe and Mail wrote about her first production "The packed house of a mostly younger demographic was wildly enthusiastic in its response, and with good reason." In 2008 her solo show was named "most heartfelt dance show in Canada" also from the Globe and Mail.

Angola's childhood was spent mostly upside down, dancing and doing gymnastics while growing up on her family farm in Grey County, Ontario. She has trained and performed in a multitude of movement disciplines including capoeira, aerial circus and acrobatics. Her strength is creating new aerial equipment that make sense in a theatrical setting. Angola is an international performer. Some highlights include: Cirque Pacifica (Maui), Waiting for Calder (Art Gallery of Ontario), Planet Power (HarbourKids), Maravilla (Second City, Toronto), Granmercy Theatre (NYC), Comand Performance (Europe), and Zip Zap Circus (South Africa).

Angola has graduated from the National Circus School in Montreal where she obtained the highest level of coaching certifcation for circus arts. She has taught all over the world offering social circus workshops and her unique master classes.

Instructor Bio

sabrina pringleSabrina Pringle
A dynamic and elegant performer, Sabrina Pringle has been mastering her craft since childhood. As a collective member of Femmes du Feu since 2006 she has been actively involved in producing, choreographing and performing, most notably in the company’s full length shows Head First (2009), The Plank (2010) and Airship (2011, 2012). Sabrina has been seen in film festivals across Canada and on the 2010 Olympic website as a solo aerialist/dancer in Elif Isikozlu’s film “Let Go”. From 2002-2005 she toured several different productions extensively in the United Stated and Europe as choreographer and performer with the Caravan Stage Barge. She was also co-founder, performer and choreographer with the dance company D.I.X from 1999-2001; producing two full-length shows in Toronto and touring to Portugal. As an aerialist, dancer, fire and stunt performer she has also worked with companies such as Circus Orange, Zero Gravity Circus, A2D2, DNA Theatre, and Company Blonde.

In the small town of Bracebridge, ON, Sabrina began as a ballet, jazz and modern dancer and went on to graduate from The School of Toronto Dance Theatre in 1999. In 2002, she began to focus on training in the circus arts with many different coaches throughout North America and completed the International Stunt School by the United Stuntmen’s Association in Seattle in 2006. Her aerial training includes silks, single and double pick harness, bungee, trapeze, dance trapeze, hoop, pole and invented apparatuses. Sabrina learned her first rigging skills sailing as a child. She is High Angle Rescue and Fall Arrest certified with experience rigging in theatres, conference halls, tall ships, high buildings (Toronto’s City Hall), trees and steep rock faces. Sabrina also performs with fire, spinning, manipulating, and even eating it, using a vast array of props and techniques. In 2005 Sabrina began running her own aerial silks school in Toronto and proudly has many students performing as professionals. In 2010 Sabrina moved to Scotland, ON with her husband Jonah Logan to start a family. Two kids later and teaching in her living room for a year, she is absolutely thrilled to be opening her own studio, Circus in the Trees and continue to grow and build a community.

My teaching philosophy:
I have always thought that the best learning comes with having a good time. It seems to me that if you can laugh at yourself and with others (whether it be at your own expense or theirs), then you are humble enough to learn. Nothing works your abs harder than laughing until you think you might pee your pants!
